While this is good news, there are limitations to this poll.
The first is that under 10,000 Americans were surveyed, and a higher number may have had a different result. The second is that we can't directly relate these numbers to the Affordable Care Act without more information.
However, this still leaves a sizeable number of Americans without insurance; approximately one in 6 or 7 of us does not have health insurance; In spite of this mandate that we should have health insurance. Now, weigh this number against the numbers of Americans with chronic diseases. Nearly 70% of us are overweight and/or obese. Diabetes affects more than one in 10 adults age 20 and older. Almost 67 million Americans have high blood pressure (one in 3), and more than half of them do not have it under control.
People need access to quality healthcare to improve these numbers, and improve the quality of preventive and chronic care they receive to manage these conditions. One is six people currently do not have access to this healthcare. We need to keep moving forward.
